The course covers the structure and purpose of key formal and ad hoc standards groups across the world explore the steps from the recognition of the need for the formal standard approval introduces the processes, mechanisms, and technologies used to create standards and give special emphasis on the impact of the Open Source movement on software standards.


An understanding of the standards that influence world-wide growth of technology and often determine market the success of companies.
