About
This course introduces relational and objects databases to support database creation and application development. The use of commercial database products will give a practical orientation.
Description
This course covers the fundamentals of database application development using C++, C, or Java by accessing a transaction-oriented database server. A commercial database environment such as Oracle is used. Additional topics may include enabling access to the database via the web, and administering large databases.
Outcome
Students will learn SQL, database design, and application development using the latest software tools. Students will also learn techniques for web-based data retrieval and manipulation.
